just-released report
According to a just-released report from Jupiter Media Metrix, nearly 6 million people are tapping into the Internet to find that someone special. Men dominate personal sites, comprising 58.23 percent of the audience, while women are more drawn to romance-related sites, such as those that sell flowers and gifts or provide greetings.

Amid the demise of many a dot-com, love seems to have conquered all. Romance Web site visits have risen almost 50 percent in the last year, more than double the rate of Web use in general, Jupiter Media Metrix found.

For one couple that knew each other in college, an e-crush was all it took to turn mutual attraction into a romantic relationship. ECrush.com is a free site that matches up people who have secret crushes on each other, without the risk of humiliation or rejection. The site’s motto: “Who loves ya, baby?”

“Apparently she noticed me a lot more than I noticed her,” eCRUSH user Adrian Walleigh told Good Morning America. Missy Hopkins agreed with that. “He was very vocal in philosophy class,” Hopkins said.
